Key Benefits
Conservative Dosing
A considered approach to subtle enhancement, with small volumes, precise refinement and naturally elegant results.
Potentially Reversible
Hyaluronidase may be used to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler when clinically appropriate. Response varies, risks will be discussed and an exact or immediate reversal cannot be guaranteed.
Restored Hydration
Hyaluronic acid helps retain moisture, leaving lips softer, smoother and naturally hydrated.
Shape Over Volume
Enhancement focuses on the Cupid’s bow, vermilion border and overall lip shape, prioritising proportion, balance and structure rather than volume alone.
What Lip Filler Can Achieve
Lip filler is a tool for enhancing shape, definition and hydration — not for transformation. When used thoughtfully, hyaluronic acid filler can restore subtle volume, define the vermilion border, refine the Cupid’s bow and improve minor asymmetries.
The aim is balance and proportion, rather than volume alone. Over-treatment can result in excessive projection, filler migration or a loss of natural movement, particularly when the lips are overfilled.
Lip filler cannot alter the underlying structure of the face, lift pronounced nasolabial folds or address dental or orthodontic causes of lip projection. In these circumstances, an alternative or complementary approach may be more appropriate.
How Hyaluronic Acid Lip Filler Works
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the skin that attracts and retains water, supporting hydration and volume. The fillers we use are purified, cross-linked HA gels designed to integrate within the tissue and are gradually broken down by the body.
HA fillers vary in their firmness, flexibility and capacity to provide structure or lift. We select the product according to your individual anatomy, tissue characteristics and desired outcome.
Hyaluronidase may be used to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler when clinically appropriate, but response varies and the procedure carries risks. An exact or immediate reversal cannot be guaranteed. As with any injectable treatment, safety depends on careful product selection, precise placement and a thorough understanding of lip anatomy.
Who Is Lip Filler Suitable For?
Lip filler is best suited to individuals with a specific, considered concern — whether that is subtle volume loss, an indistinct vermilion border, mild asymmetry, reduced definition or a desire for improved hydration.
It is not appropriate for every lip or every aesthetic goal. Active cold sores, unresolved filler migration or a desire for disproportionate volume may mean that treatment should be postponed, modified or avoided.
Our approach is guided by anatomy, proportion and natural movement. If a requested result would compromise these, we will recommend a more conservative approach — and, where appropriate, no treatment at all.
Results, Longevity & Follow-Up
Some initial swelling is expected and can temporarily exaggerate the result. The lips generally appear more settled as swelling reduces. Longevity varies between individuals, and any maintenance is discussed only after the result has settled and reassessment confirms that further treatment is appropriate.

Suitability
Aesthetic care is highly individual. The points below are general guidance — final suitability for lip fillers is always confirmed in your consultation.
Often suitable for
- Patients seeking subtle volume, clearer definition, improved hydration or refinement of mild asymmetry.
May not be suitable if
- Active cold sores or infection, unresolved filler migration, relevant contraindications or a request for disproportionate volume may require treatment to be postponed, modified or avoided.
Aftercare
Caring for your results
A few simple steps in the first 24–48 hours help your results settle as expected.
- Temporary swelling, tenderness and bruising are common. Avoid judging symmetry until swelling settles. Seek urgent help for severe or increasing pain, unusual white or dusky skin, or visual symptoms.
- Injection treatments may cause redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising. Less common complications depend on the product and site; your clinician will discuss them during consent. Seek urgent assessment for severe or increasing pain, skin colour change or any visual disturbance after filler.
