Treatment Summary

Liquid rhinoplasty uses precision hyaluronic-acid filler to refine the contour of the nose without surgery — smoothing a small dorsal hump, lifting the tip, correcting minor asymmetries, or balancing the profile. It is the highest-risk filler treatment we perform and is offered only in selected candidates, with full vascular safety counselling, cannula technique where possible, and immediate hyaluronidase availability. Liquid rhinoplasty cannot reduce nose size; it adds volume to balance, never to make smaller.

Key Benefits

Refines Profile Without Surgery

Smooths small dorsal humps, lifts the tip and balances minor asymmetries — reversibly.

Strict Candidate Selection

We perform this treatment only when filler is genuinely the right tool — surgical referral otherwise.

Cannula Technique & Emergency Protocol

Cannula technique where possible; hyaluronidase available immediately for any vascular concern.

Reversible & Regulated

MHRA-regulated HA filler, fully dissolvable with hyaluronidase if required.

A specialist treatment we approach with caution

Liquid rhinoplasty — using hyaluronic-acid filler to refine the shape of the nose without surgery — is genuinely useful for the right candidate, and genuinely dangerous when performed without strict candidate selection, anatomical understanding and immediate access to emergency reversal.

The nose is the highest-risk area in non-surgical aesthetics. The dorsal nasal, columellar and angular arteries in this region anastomose with the central retinal artery, which means that inadvertent intravascular filler injection can, rarely, cause skin necrosis or vision loss. We discuss this explicitly in consultation. We mitigate risk with cannula technique where possible, small volumes, slow injection, careful placement and immediate hyaluronidase availability. And we decline a meaningful percentage of enquiries — referring instead for surgical opinion when filler is not the right tool.

What liquid rhinoplasty can do

Filler can only add volume. Used well, this means:

  • Smoothing a small dorsal hump by adding volume above and below it, creating a straighter profile line
  • A subtle tip lift for mild tip droop
  • Correcting minor asymmetries — often after trauma or as residual irregularity from previous surgery
  • Balancing the profile in combination with chin filler

It cannot reduce nose size, fix significant deformity, address major deviation or replace surgical rhinoplasty. We say so honestly.

When we recommend chin filler instead

The profile is a relationship between nose, lips and chin. A subtly recessed chin makes the nose look larger than it is, and a small amount of chin filler often improves the profile more — and at much lower risk — than nose filler. We frequently recommend chin filler to clients who arrived enquiring about a non-surgical nose job, and many leave with chin filler alone.

Who we will not treat

We will not perform liquid rhinoplasty on clients who:

  • Want their nose to look smaller (filler cannot do this)
  • Have significant deformity that requires surgical correction
  • Have had a recent surgical rhinoplasty (we wait at least 12 months)
  • Have undissolved nose filler from another clinic
  • Are unwilling to accept the small but real vascular risks after detailed counselling

Honest refusal is, in this area, part of safe practice.

On the day at Aesthetic Clinique

A 40-minute appointment includes detailed assessment, photography (front, three-quarter and profile), marking, numbing and treatment. We use blunt-cannula technique where possible, slow injection, and tiny volumes — typically 0.3–0.7ml in total across the whole nose. Hyaluronidase is on site at every appointment, with a documented emergency protocol.

Aftercare and emergency vigilance

Most clients have only mild swelling and occasional small bruising for 2–3 days. Any persistent pain, blanching of skin, blue-grey discoloration, or visual change must be reported immediately — these can be signs of vascular compromise requiring urgent hyaluronidase. We explain this in writing and verbally, and you have direct contact details after treatment.

Longevity and follow-up

Results typically last 12–18 months. We always prefer a small top-up at maintenance rather than larger volumes at any single session. Repeated nose filler does cause fibrotic skin changes over years, which is one reason we dose conservatively from the outset.

What to Expect

  1. 1

    Detailed Suitability & Risk Consultation

We assess what you want to change, whether filler can deliver it, and review nose vascular anatomy. We discuss vascular risk explicitly. Many enquiries are declined or referred to surgical opinion at this stage.

  2. 2

    Marking, Photography & Numbing

Front, three-quarter and profile photographs are taken. Specific entry points are marked, vascular landmarks identified, and topical numbing applied for 15–20 minutes.

  3. 3

    Slow Cannula Placement on Bone

Firm HA filler is placed deep, on the bony or cartilaginous skeleton of the nose, using a blunt cannula where possible, with slow injection technique and constant assessment for blanching or pain. Volumes are tiny — typically 0.3–0.7ml total.

  4. 4

    Two-Week Review & Photos

We see you back at two weeks, take comparison photos and decide whether further refinement is appropriate. Most clients need a single careful session.

Suitability

Aesthetic care is highly individual. The points below are general guidance — final suitability for nose reshaping is always confirmed in your consultation.

Often suitable for

  • Smoothing a small dorsal hump by adding volume above and below it
  • Subtle tip lift in clients with mild tip droop
  • Correcting minor asymmetries from previous trauma or post-surgery
  • Balancing the profile in combination with chin filler
  • Clients with realistic expectations who understand filler can only ADD, not reduce

May not be suitable if

  • Anyone wanting to reduce the size of their nose — surgical rhinoplasty is required
  • Significant deformity, large hump, or major asymmetry — surgical referral is more appropriate
  • Clients with previous nose filler placed deeply or in large volumes that has not been dissolved
  • Anyone who has had surgical rhinoplasty within the past 12 months
  • Clients unwilling to accept the small but real vascular risks specific to this area
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Aftercare

Caring for your results

A few simple steps in the first 24–48 hours help your results settle as expected.

  • Avoid pressing, massaging or wearing glasses on the nose for 2 weeks
  • Skip strenuous exercise, alcohol and saunas for 48 hours
  • Sleep on your back for the first 3 nights
  • Avoid facials, dermabrasion and dental work for 1 week
  • Mineral SPF only; no makeup directly over the area for 12 hours
  • Report any persistent pain, blanching, blue-grey discoloration or visual change IMMEDIATELY — these are signs of vascular compromise and require emergency hyaluronidase

Treatment Areas

  • Bridge
  • Tip
  • Sidewalls
  • Dorsum

Liquid rhinoplasty is the highest-risk filler treatment because the nose contains vessels (the dorsal nasal artery, columellar artery and angular artery) that anastomose with the central retinal artery. Inadvertent intravascular injection in this region can cause skin necrosis or, very rarely, vision loss. We mitigate this risk with strict candidate selection, blunt-cannula technique where possible, slow placement, small volumes, and immediate hyaluronidase availability. We use only MHRA-regulated HA filler. We will refuse treatment when the desired result requires reduction (which filler cannot deliver) or when anatomy makes risk unacceptably high.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can liquid rhinoplasty make my nose smaller?

No. Filler can only add volume — it cannot reduce the size of the nose. What it can do is balance a profile by adding small volume above and below a hump (making the hump look less prominent) or lifting a slightly drooped tip. If you want a smaller nose, surgical rhinoplasty is the correct treatment and we will say so.

Is liquid rhinoplasty safe?

It is the highest-risk filler treatment we offer. The nose contains vessels that connect to the eye, and inadvertent intravascular injection can cause skin necrosis or, very rarely, vision loss. We mitigate risk with cannula technique, slow injection, small volumes, immediate hyaluronidase availability and strict candidate selection. We discuss these risks explicitly in consultation and consent.

How long does liquid rhinoplasty last?

Typically 12–18 months. The nose moves very little and we use firmer HA filler designed for structural placement, so longevity is at the upper end of HA filler ranges. We always prefer to add a small top-up at maintenance rather than overfill in a single session.

Can liquid rhinoplasty be reversed?

Yes. HA filler is fully reversible with hyaluronidase. Both planned reversal (if you don't like the result) and emergency reversal (in the case of vascular compromise) are available. Hyaluronidase is kept on site at every appointment.

Can I have liquid rhinoplasty if I want surgery later?

Possibly, but with caveats. Repeated nose filler creates fibrotic tissue changes that can complicate later surgical planning. If you are seriously considering surgical rhinoplasty in the next 1–2 years, we will recommend deferring filler and seeking a surgical opinion first. We say so honestly.

Why do you sometimes recommend chin filler instead of nose filler?

The profile is a balance of nose, chin and lower face. A subtly recessed chin makes the nose look more prominent than it is — and a small amount of chin filler often improves the profile more, with much lower risk, than nose filler. We frequently recommend chin filler to clients who arrived asking about nose filler.

Will I have a bandage or visible recovery?

No. Most clients return to normal activities the same day. Mild swelling at the bridge or tip and occasional small bruising for 2–3 days are typical. We advise no glasses on the nose for 2 weeks (they can displace fresh filler) and no strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
