Aesthetic Clinique is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. This statement explains how we work towards that goal, the standards we follow, what we know is not yet fully accessible, and how to contact us if you encounter a problem.
Standards we follow
aestheticclinique.co.uk targets full conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA (which is backwards-compatible with WCAG 2.1 AA), the technical standard referenced by:
- the UK Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, and
- the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882), enforced from 28 June 2025, and the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1.
What this means in practice
- The site can be operated using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
- Pages are structured with semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) so assistive technologies can navigate efficiently.
- A "Skip to main content" link is available as the first focusable element on every page.
- Text is resizable up to 200% without loss of content or functionality, and the layout reflows down to a 320 px viewport.
- Colour contrast meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 ratio required for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
- All non-decorative images have descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.
- Form fields have programmatically associated labels and clear required-field markers; native browser validation messages are available for missing or invalid input.
- Animations and transitions respect the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting. - The cookie consent banner is keyboard-operable (Escape closes the preferences panel), can be re-opened at any time, and uses Google Consent Mode v2 so that no analytics or marketing cookies are set without your explicit choice.
- Interactive controls meet the WCAG 2.2 minimum target size (24 × 24 CSS pixels); the primary touch targets are at least 44 × 44 CSS pixels.
- Form errors are returned inline next to the offending field and announced through an ARIA live region, so they're discoverable both visually and with assistive technology.
- External links open in a new tab only when explicitly indicated and always use
rel="noopener".
Known limitations
We test the site regularly with automated tools and with manual keyboard and screen reader testing. The following items are known to fall short of the standard above and are being addressed:
- The embedded Google Maps frame on the contact page is provided by a third party and is not fully controlled by us; an accessible address and travel-directions text is provided alongside it.
- Some older Markdown-authored content may use heading levels that skip occasionally; we audit and correct this on an ongoing basis.
- PDF documents linked from third-party providers may not always meet PDF/UA. Where this affects you, please contact us using the details below and we will provide the information in an accessible format.
Compatibility
The site is designed to work with the latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and with common assistive technologies including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack. JavaScript is used progressively — core content and booking information remain available without it.
Reporting an accessibility problem

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five working days and to provide a substantive response within 20 working days, including a timeline for any fix that cannot be completed immediately.
Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the relevant enforcement body in your country. In the United Kingdom this is the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). In the European Union, complaints can be directed to the national accessibility authority of the country in which you reside.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was last reviewed on 20 May 2026. It is based on a self-assessment of the website carried out by our internal team using a combination of automated testing tools (axe-core, Google Lighthouse, Pa11y), manual keyboard testing, screen reader testing with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS / iOS, and visual contrast checks against the WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria. A third-party conformance audit against EN 301 549 is planned annually.
We review the site's accessibility on at least an annual basis and after any substantial design or feature change.
