Treatment Summary

Our deep cleansing glow facial is an extraction-led, results-focused facial combining double cleansing, enzymatic exfoliation, professional steam, manual extractions, brightening serums and a calming mask. It is designed as a clinical reset for congested, dull or blackhead-prone skin — and as a sensible pre-event treatment timed correctly into a wider skincare programme.

Also known as: extraction facial · clarifying facial · deep cleanse facial · pre-event facial · signature facial

Key Benefits

Genuine Manual Extractions

Trained, controlled extractions of comedones — not a cosmetic gloss-over.

Visible Same-Day Glow

Brightness, smoothness and refined surface immediately after treatment.

Calming, Not Aggressive

Designed to leave skin clear without leaving it red, raw or compromised.

Programme-Friendly

Combines sensibly with peels, microneedling and medical-grade home skincare.

What this facial actually is

The deep cleansing glow facial is our extraction-led signature facial — a 90-minute clinical treatment that takes the skin through a thorough professional cleanse, enzymatic exfoliation, manual extractions where appropriate, and brightening, calming finishing steps. It is designed as a genuine reset for congested, dull or pre-event skin, not as a relaxation-only experience that does little for the skin itself.

We do not believe a results-focused facial has to feel clinical and unpleasant. The pacing is relaxing; the depth of work is real.

What it is good for

The facial is at its best for:

  • Oily, congested or blackhead-prone skin that benefits from regular professional extractions
  • Dull, tired skin needing a thorough reset
  • Pre-event preparation booked 5–10 days before a wedding, photoshoot or event
  • Maintenance between peels, microneedling or laser sessions
  • Maintenance for clients on Obagi or similar medical-grade home programmes

What it is not

The deep cleansing facial is not medical treatment for active inflammatory acne. If you have cystic acne, persistent breakouts or significant active inflammation, we will recommend clinical management first — antibiotics, retinoids, hormonal evaluation as appropriate — before the facial has a useful role. We are honest about that boundary rather than promising a facial can solve a medical problem.

It is also not a substitute for in-clinic peels, microneedling or laser when those are the right tools for your concern. It complements them.

Who suits it — and who should wait

Most adult skin types are appropriate. We will defer the facial when there is active rosacea or eczema flare, active cold sores or herpes simplex in the area, recent peel, laser or microneedling within 2 weeks, or isotretinoin within the last 6 months.

What happens on the day

After a brief consultation and skin assessment, the facial proceeds through a structured sequence: double cleanse, enzymatic exfoliation, steam to soften follicles, manual extractions of accessible comedones, a targeted mask, brightening or hydrating serum, and a mineral SPF finish. Total time around 90 minutes. We do not force extractions on lesions that are not ready, because forcing extractions causes the very scarring and pigmentation we are trying to avoid.

Recovery

Some pinkness in extracted areas for an hour or two. Skin generally looks brighter and smoother straight after. We ask that you avoid heavy make-up for the rest of the day, use gentle skincare and SPF the following day, and skip retinoids and acids for 24–48 hours.

Frequency

For congested skin, monthly facials are sensible. For maintenance, every 6–8 weeks works for most. We do not push frequency for its own sake — we plan the facial cadence around your wider skin programme, peels, microneedling and home skincare so the elements work together rather than colliding.

Pre-event timing

If you are booking around a major event, the sweet spot is 5–10 days beforehand — late enough that the visible glow is at its best, early enough to allow any small marks from extractions to settle completely. We will plan timing during booking; never book the facial for the day of the event.

What to Expect

  1. 1

    Skin Consultation and Double Cleanse

We assess skin condition and complete a double cleanse to remove make-up, sunscreen and surface oil.

  2. 2

    Enzymatic Exfoliation and Steam

Gentle enzyme exfoliation and warm steam soften the skin and prepare follicles for extraction.

  3. 3

    Manual Extractions

Comedones (blackheads and whiteheads) are extracted carefully and only where appropriate — never forced.

  4. 4

    Mask, Serum and SPF

A targeted mask, brightening serum, hydrating finish and SPF complete the facial.

Suitability

Aesthetic care is highly individual. The points below are general guidance — final suitability for deep cleaning glow face is always confirmed in your consultation.

Often suitable for

  • Congested, blackhead-prone or oily skin
  • Dull, tired or 'reset' skin needing a thorough professional cleanse
  • Pre-event skin preparation 5–10 days ahead
  • Maintenance between peels, microneedling or laser sessions
  • Clients who prefer a relaxing facial environment with clinical results

May not be suitable if

  • Active inflamed or cystic acne (treat clinically first)
  • Active rosacea or eczema flare in the area
  • Open sores, cold sores or active herpes simplex
  • Recent peel, laser or microneedling — usually wait 2 weeks
  • Recent isotretinoin within 6 months

Aftercare

Caring for your results

A few simple steps in the first 24–48 hours help your results settle as expected.

  • Avoid heavy make-up for the rest of the day
  • Use gentle skincare and SPF the next day
  • Avoid retinoids and acids for 24–48 hours
  • Avoid saunas, hot yoga and chlorinated pools for 24 hours
  • Book your event 24–72 hours after treatment, not on the same day

Treatment Areas

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Back (on request)

Extraction-led professional facials with appropriate hygiene, technique and post-care are a long-standing staple of clinical skincare. The treatment is not a substitute for medical management of acne or pigmentation, but it has a real role in maintenance, congestion control and pre-event preparation when integrated sensibly into a wider skin programme.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a 'medi-facial' or a relaxing facial?

Both. The clinical depth — proper extractions, results-focused product choice, integrated into a wider skin plan — is medi-facial-grade. The environment, pacing and finishing steps are relaxing. We do not believe these have to be separate things.

Will you do extractions?

Yes — properly. Skin is softened with steam and enzymatic exfoliation first, and only ripe, accessible comedones are extracted. We do not force lesions that are not ready, because that is how scars and post-inflammatory pigmentation happen.

How is this different from a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a specific machine-based protocol using a vacuum-extraction device. Our deep cleansing glow facial is therapist-led with manual extractions and traditional clinical methods — many clients find it produces a more thorough cleanse for their skin. They are different routes to broadly similar goals; both have their place.

How often should I have this facial?

For oily or congested skin, monthly is sensible. For maintenance, every 6–8 weeks works well. Pre-event treatments are best timed 5–10 days before the event, never the same day.

Will I have any redness afterwards?

Some pinkness in the extracted areas is normal and settles within an hour or two. Skin generally looks brighter and smoother straight after. We do not deliberately leave skin red — that is not what 'effective' looks like.

Can the facial replace medical treatment for my acne?

No. If you have active inflammatory or cystic acne, we will recommend clinical management first. The facial is a useful adjunct for milder congestion and post-acne maintenance, but it is not a substitute for proper medical treatment.

Can I combine the facial with peels or microneedling?

Yes — but we space them. Typically the deep cleanse is 1–2 weeks before or after a peel or microneedling session, never on the same skin in the same week.
